The Newborn Session Experience

I am so excited to share this video with all of you!  I know getting out with your newborn in the first few weeks is always an adventure…usually stressful…and sometimes just not worth it!  So, I wanted you to see that this is not the case for your Melissa Rieke Photography Newborn Session!  My goal is to create amazing newborn art for your memories and your home…and also give you (the parents) a chance to sit back and relax.  No really…that is what happens during a session!  I know my parents don’t believe me when I tell them this…but it is true!  Many of my moms get that little cat nap they have been longing for for the past 12 days…or they get caught up on emails…or just sit and watch their favorite show without interruption.  I have had moms tell me that it is the most relaxing experience they have had for a photo session!  Which of course makes me so happy because that is my goal!

When you arrive at the studio a few things will happen!  I will ask you a few questions about baby, make sure you give me the pacifier and bottle (if they take them)…and let you know how the session will go.  We will have already discussed color combos and props that you love!  Then I will show you where the snacks are, the drinks…and how to work the TV.  Then it is time for you to just sit back and enjoy the quiet time!  I will take your baby down and slowly undress them and get them used to the space they are in…and if they are ready we will start shooting!  Before you know it…3 hours has passed…I have captured amazing images of your new little love bug…and you will be rested and ready to tackle the rest of your day!
