Self Care In My 40s
Stretch Base Therapy
Now that I have turned 41 (ok ok…that was back in March)…I need to find new ways to stay healthy, have energy, and feel young. Self Care In My 40s involves a little more than a manicure and a nap. When we were invited to visit RESTORE OLATHE I’ll admit I had no idea what it was all about. I hadn’t heard of most of the services and I am typically a “middle” adopter of new things so I was cautious. THEN we did a tour and NOW I want to do ALL THE THINGS on ALL THE DAYS!
During my first visit I really wanted to try the Stretch Base Therapy. I have always been told that with my bad back I have weak and tight hamstrings. Turns out…that isn’t completely true and I might have been over stretching and weakening. My appointment was with Hunter, he was fantastic and so full of knowledge.
Hunter evaluated how I stood and moved and was able to tell my hips were tilted forward meaning I need to strengthen my hamstrings to pull my hips in place. I also mentioned my shoulders/back seemed tight…but in fact he said it was also over stretched from working on my computer and my chest was actually the tight spot…and boy did I feel that with the stretches below.
Stretching is a great way to re-energize your body and clear your mind. Hunter is guiding the way, all you have to do is relax, breathe deeply, and fully experience the benefits of stretching. The next day I walked 7 miles like it was nothing and felt great after. I hope to make STRETCH THERAPY a part of my monthly routine going 2 times per month.
A Few Things To Know Before You Go In:
- Wear Leggings or something stretchy that covers (wide leg shorts might be a bit revealing)
- Drink Lots Water
- Be honest about where you are tight, sore, have injuries
- Whole Body Cryo, Photobiomodulation Therapy (Red Light therapy), and Compression Therapy are all great compliments to Stretch
RESTORE OLATHE has so many great things to choose from and the cost for most are so affordable. Not only that, but it is so easy to schedule a therapy and it is an “easy” no stress process to get in and out of there. AND THE STAFF is AMAZING!
