Newborn Client Model Release Form & Questionnaire

Here are some tips on how to prepare!

If at all possible, try keeping baby stimulated and awake an hour or so before the session; a bath usually helps in keeping them awake.  We will need the baby to be asleep for a majority of the session to achieve the squishy poses you see on my site. It’s best to start on a full belly so feeding him/her right before you put them in the car seat to head my way is best.  Please dress him/her in a button down outfit so I’m not having to pull anything over their head while undressing them.  Try not put them in anything tight that will leave marks (like socks, mittens, etc.).

Sessions can take up to 3-4 hours even with a very sleepy baby. (if you are doing a Keepsake session it will be more like 1-2 hours) There is a sofa in the studio with a TV and light snacks.  Most parents take advantage of the time to rest and relax.  I try to keep the studio fairly warm for the babies so you may dress in layers so you don’t get too warm.

Jaundice : If your baby has jaundice or is still yellow from jaundice it is best we wait until it is out of his/her system.  Jaundice is very hard to edit out of skin due to the yellow/red blotchiness it causes as it is leaving their system.  Jaundice is typically gone by week 2.

Gas : If you are breastfeeding and your baby has gas issues, please abstain from eating the following 48 hours before your session : dairy  products — milk, cheese, yogurt, pudding, ice cream, or any food that has milk, milk products, casein, whey, or sodium casein in it.  Other foods that may cause gas and fussiness include anything with caffeine, soy, fish, peanuts, chocolate, wheat, beef, nuts, eggs, corn, citrus fruits and prenatal vitamins containing iron. –Courtesy Babycenter & ModernMom Parenting  If your baby is showing signs of gas issues, please pack a bottle of Mylicon, safe for the newest of babies.

All I need you to bring is a paci without an animal attached this can help us get thru a pose before eating, or pacify a baby that doesn’t want to settle.   It’s nice to bring a bottle of formula or expressed breast milk so I can feed baby during the session, but it’s not mandatory. Once baby has that connection with mommy in the middle of the session, it’s sometimes hard for them to get back into a deep sleep or if mommy’s milk is not in all the way baby may want to use mommy to snack and pacify frequently. If you’re exclusively breastfeeding, that’s perfectly fine. We will take breaks as we need to as the baby is always the boss in the studio.  I will play a white noise machine during the session to mimic the sounds of the womb.

The Studio is located at 515 E 4th Street, Tonganoxie KS 66086.  It is a white building with a gold BLUSH sign, use the black door and take the long hallway down to the studio.  My number is 913-488-5125  in case you need to reach me.
