Can I Get On A Schedule?

Day Designer 2017

Well…2017 has MADE IT!!!  I am so excited to start this new year.  Yeah yeah, people say that all the time but I truly am READY and EXCITED.  Typically I am NEVER ready for the new year…I need a few extra weeks (ok a month) to regroup from the previous year.  But this year has wrapped itself nicely up in a little bow and is DONE.  We have moved out of our beloved studio that we have been in for 5 1/2 years!  It was nerve wracking to do that during BUSY season…and my stress level was..well..HIGH…but we did it!  Now we are homeless while we wait for the new studio to be finished.  Also, I did my latest Cancer screening tests last week…and today got my results.  ALL CLEAR!  Seriously…I will NEVER EVER tire of hearing those words.  Well honestly I don’t typically hear those exact words…especially with seeing 3 different doctors and a nurse in my last 4 visits…but they all mean the same thing…NO CANCER!  The other good news from today’s visit is I get to move to 6 month visits!  YOU HAVE NO IDEA how thrilled I am for this!  I have been going every 12 weeks for 2.5 years and I am OVER IT!  So…YES there is a cupcake in today’s post in honor of the all clear!  If you don’t follow me on social media A. YOU SHOULD…and B.  I always celebrate with a cupcake (and frankly would get a cupcake if it was bad news too).

SO, with no studio and working strictly from home I am wondering “Can I Get On A Schedule?” in 2017?  I don’t really do resolutions…but I do try to add something in to better myself each year.  (Obviously that isn’t cutting out sugar!)  I am feeling a strong pull towards keeping things simple this year and also keeping work at work!  I want to finally no answer the “how are you” question with “BUSY”.  I am busy because I am not scheduled…and I am wanting to keep WORK AT WORK!  As a small business owner that seems like a far fetched idea…and yes I will probably bring work home, but LESS than before!

I have never been successful with a paper planner before.  I have thrived with i Calendar at least keeping my appointments scheduled so that is good.  However I haven’t done well at my day to day planning.  I am aiming to change that this year and after doing my research and asking around I decided that The Day Designer was going to be the tool to get me there.  I love the design of it…it is simple and not too overwhelming but has great spots for a little “thinking” and “purpose”.  This planner came so beautiful packaged and made me feel so special that I think each time I will open it with purpose and thought.  It will also convince me to use it because who doesn’t love fun pretty things!  Also my good friend Amy gave me a great tip to USE A PENCIL!  HA.  My big hang up with paper planners is I hate it when Imake a mistake and have to scribble something out!  PENCIL, how can I have not thought of this simple thing!
